View Full Version : Source Code Question

I (and others) program an open source VJ tool called OpenTZT.
One of the things people have been asking for is for me/us to provide MilkDrop as a plug-in video source to OpenTZT. OpenTZT is built on top of DX7. Does anyone think integrating MilkDrop into OpenTZT is doable? If so, what are some of the hurdles I'd have to jump getting there?

And one more thing... is there a repository somewhere online for the Open Source development?

Heh, do you seriously live in Raleigh North Carolina?
You don't by chance know someone named Celeste do you..?

right now milkdrop is dependent on winamp to run, i suspose you could take the essencial functions out, you might have to update your program to dx8 for that, since thats what MD uses.
i'm guessing that your proggy just takes video/audio input and warps it?

They did a port for the XBOX for the media player so it is all very possible.
So that means that OPenTZT users will be making presets for MD then. ;)

Rova is always such a shining becon of implication. ;)
I think I can get around upgrading the whole OpenTZT program to DX8 if I make MD a consumable plug-in/dll. I'm guessing that DX8 would be able to accept a DX7 surface if the calling program was hooking a DX8 DLL and passing the surface through a function call. I can always be wrong about these thing, though.
OpenTZT does not currently handle any audio, so that would need to be updated (by grabbing it from the windows record source). It's primary function is to manipulate video live by reacting to user control.
