my comp took a crap today, i was trying to setup duel boot with linux, and somehow my d drive got wasted, then my new 160giger wont work, so i can't do any recovery with only my 10gig operating.... long story short i lost all my music, porn, and most importantly the source code for MD... :cry: :igor: :cry: :eek: :cry: :down: :down: :tinfoil: ¿ :cry:

i *might* have a copy on another drive i gave to my roommate, i hope so anyway. and i found some recovery program to hopefully recover some of my mp3s(once i get my 160 workin)

well, it's too late now, but you should get in the habit of doing incremental saves of your work every day and back'em up in CDs every once in a while, to prevent things like this!

Unfortunately most people learn this the tough way!

I suppose you've lost all your presets too?

only my most recent prests are gone, i saved the rest of them on another drive, how dumb of me not to save source too! but all the beta prests i made and didnt relese are prolly gone, i just got done adapting my beat dection to work with the new sound function too :cry:

ok, i think i'm gonna be able to recover it all, i got this data recovery program, r-studio, and it found all my files, but only exports under 64k in the demo version, so i already have most of the files i edited, excpet for milkdropfs.cpp (where i did most of my editing) and mabye a few others. but! it will output the whole disk to an image file, .dsk (its a mac format), so now i jsut gotta figure out how to mount it and i should be fine

never used paypal before, but if you would like to make a donation i would be happy to set one up, the file recovery software costs like $50, havent found a way around that yet

oh by the way the image file thing didnt work very well, the only programs i could find that support .dsk files also cost like $50 and the demo versions are giving me troubles, already got one blue screen of death, rewriting the image file now, to try again...
