View Full Version : How to bookmark radio stations with multiple servers?

With the restriction for only downloading 1000 streams on a refresh in Media Library radio stations, there is a big problem that radio stations I have bookmarked may no longer appear in the refresh list (now) -- so if the server IP Addresses change, I cannot update the bookmark accordingly (I sure wish this would update automatically btw - it's a pain to have to delete/readd a bookmark just because the radio stations's servers changed ip addresses). And yes, I do realize it may be out of WinAmp's control and there may be no mechanism to recognize these have changed...but I would say something needs to be built there.

In any event, if I go to Shoutcast.com I can get the new stream for the radio station to play, but I can only save one server off to the Bookmark for that radio station. If the radio station has say, 3 servers, is there a way to bookmark those 3 servers as a group? I know I can bookmark each server individually but doing that would be silly.

Anyone know how I can do this? Thanks!

Well, you could try going to the station website and downloading a playlist.

Play one stream and then bookmark that. Next browse to the station's webiste (or shoutcast if you can't find one) and find a play/listen link and copy the URL of it (Right click -> Copy link location in FF) and then go back to the Media Library and find that bookmarked stream and Right click -> Edit selected bookmarks (Ctrl + E) and them paste the URL into the File box and change the Title to what ever you wish.

Grrrrrr...I should have thought of that! Thanks, that works just fine. In case you can't tell, I never launch radio stations from anywhere other than WinAmp.

Can you tell me if using this link is more immune to server changes the radio station may undergo? Or is it a case of a playlist is a playlist, and this has the same restrictions?

Thanks again.
