My MIDI files won't play anymore

I have a sound blaster live, and tons of MIDI files. I installed winamp and tried to play a MIDI file. It started playing, but when I try to stop or change the time position it just stalls. After that I can't play anymore MIDI files until I reboot.

I have the same problem with Yamaha SXG-50 soft synthesizer and a FM801 based soundcard.
Is there a bug?

I have the same problem, I thought I was alone but obviously I am not. Can anyone help? (I have an SB Live).
