Just a few days until the Xbox 360 releases...I'll be there (Wal-mart) waiting on launch night, replete with 360 t-shirt and my girlfriend fending off attacks by nerdy types.
Anyone else waiting?

I don't care about this any more than I cared about the PS2 when it launched. Maybe I'll buy an XBox 360 4 or 5 years from now when they're cheaper, like I did with the PS2.

But if I were getting one of the other two consoles, it'd definitely be the Xbox360. Sony can keep their shit.

I'm not getting one on launch day unfortunately:(
Since that isn't going to happen, it's not likely I'll have one before spring.
Earliest the next batch will be available according to press releases.
I BETTER have one in time for Halo3:up:

The only thing putting me there at launch night is
1) the fact that console releases only happen as often as leapyears
2) the fact that I have been waiting for a Perfect Dark sequel for five years now
3) the fact that Halo 1 & 2 will look significantly better on the 360.

I'm very curious how allegiant game developers will be to Sony. They've always had so many third-party developers in the past, but if the console's harder to program for without much advantage in power...

dev difficulties and costs were hardly factored in with ps2/gc/xbox...so its all about installed base.
japanese 3rd parties are starting to think about xbox because they are getting moutains of cash thrown their way and thats it.
and believe it or not im sure even nintendos recent boost in support has to do with them finaly opening up their own pockets(which supposedly rivals sony's pockets)
ps3 may be harder to develop for than 360(who knows if this is even true??), but it could still be easier than ps2, so you never know.

Another thing I meant to mention, developers who want to get started developing a game now only really have one choice. The old generation can't handle more than the long-delayed titles they're getting, the PS3 and Revolution are still mostly hypothetical...which leaves the 360 as the most viable new project box at the moment. Of course, that'll only last six months, tops, but I think that's a pretty hardcore headstart for impatient developers.
