Version 2.63 does not apparently support shoutcast streaming mp3 broadcasting. I reinstalled the shoutcast plugin and netshow tools to no avail. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/frown.gif
I then reinstalled version 2.62 and I was back in business with my shoutcast stream (to live365). http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif
I'm surpised no one has mentioned this major bug. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/confused.gif

Read the other posts. 2.63 does not support dsp plugins, as in the shoutcast plugin.

A LOT OF PEOPLE (LIKE 30+ ) MENTIONED THAT: DSP NOT WORKING INCLUDES SHOUTCAST. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS READING (THATS WHY I'M USING BOLD CAPS) I SUGGEST GOING TO YOUR NEAREST OPTICIAN http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif
You should also have noticed that 2.64 is out, get it.

Dear Moderators Gandalf & Ice:
Do you have to take a pledge to be rude when you sign on as a moderator?
I'm sorry that the issue my post addressed seemed so obvious to you "experts." Perhaps other less well-informed end users like myself are interested in why a Shoutcast broadcast is not working when that is not specifically addressed. To some it is not evident that DSP issues are synonymous (sp?) with Shoutcast problems.
If I can find an administrative address, I will report your amicable replies to someone that values patience and some degree of professionalism.
Thanks for ALL your help.

no, we don't take a pledge to be rude when we become moderators. the reason they are annoyed is because, as they said, this topic has been posted and answered and posted and answered and posted and answered and...
we're human too. if you can't take the time to read previous posts, don't cry about being told to do so.

Even now, several days after 2.64 came out, the bug board is full or 2.63 posts. Reading even a few of these posts would lead to the conclusion that 2.63 has serious issues. On the DSP<->SC connection: the SHOUTtcast source plugin, is as you know, a DSP plug. So it would be only natural for it not to work because no DSP plug works in 2.63
On the patience and rudeness issue: im sorry if i was too offensive, but as i daily post at least twice the number of your total posts (3 at this time) and i read at least 30 threads a day, my patience will probably run out before yours.

doctorzzzzz - I am probably less of a computer/Winamp/Shoutcast expert than you and, like yourself, I hate it when someone gives me an answer that presumes I know a lot more than I do.
However, you drew the wrath of Ice and Gandalf because of your third paragraph: "I'm surprised no one has mentioned this major bug." That statement presumes that you actually looked for a report of the Shoutcast/2.63 bug and, sorry to say, it certainly appears that you did not. There is a "Search" link at the top of each forum page, and a current search for "Shoutcast", in the "Bug" forum alone, returns 13 hits.
Plus, before you go firing off emails to proclaim your indignation, think about the amount of information you get from this site, all in support of a FREE product. How many other software programs have you downloaded or purchased that offer even 1/10th the level of responsiveness that Winamp does?
And, to defend Ice and Gandalf's position, there are TONS of people who post, day after day, who are obviously too lazy to spend a few minutes looking through the FAQ, reading the threads, or doing a search. If I was a moderator, I'd get pissed off too.
However - One suggestion to the forum moderators that might your lives a tiny bit less aggravating: Each day or two, why not post a "canned" message in each forum, titled "NEW? - READ THIS FIRST" (bold caps, the way Gandalf likes it) that reminds new visitors, BEFORE they post their message, to (1) read the FAQ, (2) browse the threads, and (3) run a search. That way, the canned message would always be in the top 10 or 20 threads and might be seen (and obeyed) by people like doctorzzzzz before they piss you off. I know it's redundant, but it's the kind of thing that probably needs to be done if you really want to cut down on the duplicate postings. Just an idea ...

Thanks for all the (unnecessary) replies. Nothing was gained except I realize you guys are humans too http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif That is especially nice in this cyber-sea we call the Internet.
I did a search for 2.63 and Shoutcast and my query was the first that referenced both issues. True, I didn't make the connection that the Shoutcast plugin was a DSP plugin. Is it really that important and that very significant that I did not? I take 2 demerits.
The most efficient way to have handled all this was for Grandmasters gandalf & Ice to have just posted a URL or a pointer to a previous answer or a realtime FAQ instead of venting on poor lil ol' me!
I also appreciate our Junior Moderator's comments immensely http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif
Please don't come down so hard on us junior nerds even if the "answer" has been posted 1000 times in the preceding paragraph and in the first line of the FAQ.
