I am having some trouble with the following and could use some help. The problem reported below occurs with 2.62 and 2.64. I am running Win98 second edition, PIII 600EB, Creative LiveValue!

This problem is specific to the the right click "play in WinAmp" selection from the context-senstive Start Button menu.

When I select play in WinAmp in the above manner, WinAmp first tries to open a shortcut pointing to another program.

A second problem when selecting WinAmp in this manner, is that it seems to always wish to start up playing all the wav. files I have on my machine as a startup default. I would like it to open without doing this but can't seem to find a way.

Thanks! Look forward to receiving some help from a tech savvy user.

Richard

hmmm... mine does that too. very odd. it doesn't try to play other files, but it looks for a shortcut that doesn't exist.

imho you are abusing the start menu. Couldn't you just tell the startup folder to "play in winamp". The errors are probably broken shortcuts: it seems that winamp tries to follow shortcuts just in case they lead to mp3s (not sure).
