Yes I have the same problem but only when I encoded with musicmatch jukebox ( also it doesn't let me scroll my playlist, it snaps back to the vbr song)

make sure you're using 2.62. displaying the wrong time happened in older versions when vbr had just come out, but it was fixed long ago. i have hundreds of vbr mp3's on my playlist, and they all display the correct time, and i can scroll the playlist just fine.

Well I think it's not Winamp to be blamed. It's about VBR info at the beginning of the MP3 file (I think it should be the very first frame) which seems to be missing.
You can check it in file info (ALT+3); if there is written "VBR(xxx)" where xxx means the average bitrate of the MP3, everything should be OK (including the time). If there is something different (for example "32kbit") then you may have the problem.
For example in LAME this VBR info is created as a default; with -t it creates MP3 without this VBR info.

I hope it helps.

i am having a problem with winamp crashing and i'm pretty sure it's because of songs i recorded with musicmatch songs using mp3 vbr. it sometimes crashes at the 1 second mark and the song doesn't start. i also have the problem with the song times being longer or shorter than the actual song. does anyone know how to fix the mp3s so it won't do that?
