buffer & prebuffer & Remote Destop

Hello,

I was wonderig if my buffer and preffer setting would affect my hosting company? I would also like to know if Remote Desktop limits bandwidth use?


my set up:

3 servers/ 3 different bitrates/ one slot each

Host:

3 servers 200 Slots @ 128k, 64k & 32k

Remote Desktop does not limit bandwidth in any way - it also doesn't use much bandwidth.

The first thing I would try is an outbound traceroute to the external server. In windows you can use tracert 123.45.67.19 (switch with the IP of your server). Then try an external traceroute to your external server AND to yourself from www.traceroute.org using a server nearest your country. See where the congestion is and you've found the problem. If ping times are good on all tests there may be something else causing the problem.
