Ok I use to use sam2 to stream to my sever but something happened with sam and now I cant seem to reinstall it but that’s not the prob.


Because sam won’t work on my system I downloaded winamp and the plug in as im encoding on an old P2 witch could be the problem but when you listen to my stream some times it sounds like it fast forwards then comes back in I Lowered the bit rate from 128kbps to 112kbps to see if was a server problem but still have the same problem and plus I don’t like the sound differences if any one can help me out with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.


1. Most of the Mp3 were downloaded form napster
2. I have a old P2 and I don’t know the amount of mem that’s in it
3. Could it bandwidth problem witch I don’t think it is because I lowered the bit rate in less I need to lower it more
4. my stream can be accessed by going to http://boppenheimer.com

i have had a listen for a while and it sounds fine after 3 songs with no issues,

i would imagine this is down to process availabillity and the encoder having the power to encode the content to the correct rate as it is a fairly small cpu and maybe you are playing very high encoded content.

this normally happens when there is a change in channel and shoutcast has difficulties.

try playing content that is all mono or all stereo and see if the encoder handles it any better.

may not be the answer but worth looking at.

ok guess its time for a new computer for encoding i wase thinking a intell dule cor p4 with like 2 gigs aleat is not a prblem with the sever or the MP3s
