This happened with 2.61 too. When i use the balance knob, or thing, and move it to the right, it goes to the left speaker, and the same moving to to the left, the rigth speaker. Does this happen to anyone else, or is it just my computer?

Nope. I'm using 2.62 under NT & 2000 on a PIII533b, and it works fine. My guess is that you have your speakers wired backwards.

Make sure in the IN_MP3 the reverse stereo option is not checked.

Do the same for OUT_WAVE with reverse balance.

Well, I'm having a similar problem.

No sound from left speaker!! http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
(When using WinAmp)

Playing WAVs and MP3s using other players work great.

What I did is I turned Volume control in WinAmp, and it worked. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif But I would really appreciate if anyone has another solution, for I liked the volume control function...

I had the same problem with the "wave balance" moving to the left speaker only. I read the other's replies and checked my Wimamp preferences,plug-ins,output, configure screen and had a check mark by "volume control enable". Try removing all check marks in the "volume control" area and make sure "output device" above is "Wave Mapper".

I had a similar problem, with winamp 2.666. Every time a songs starts, the balance of all windows wave output goes all way right... Then I disabled the Winamp volume control, and the problem is gone. But if I want to change the volume I have to use the windows mixer. The wave plugin is set to output to the Wave Mapper, but the problem persists if I set it to output directly to the sound card. Is that a bug in Winamp?

I found the exzct same problem with my version 2.66. My speaker balance was always moving over to one side every time a song would start.
I found the balance control on Winamp was over completly to one side. I just centered it and the problem dissapeared!!!
Good Luck and Be Well
