[yp_add] error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com
Yes, that is the error I get now. I fixed my NAK Error by reading this page: Get Started with ShoutCast (http://www.sp0rky-n00b.co.uk/localcast.htm)
I just am stumped as to how to fix this problem. Please help me out here.

is that the ONLY error? If so, then sometimes the yp can be picky. Give it some time.... BUT, if there are other errors, then please post 'em :)

Time? I gave it 20+ minutes and it kept giving me this error 2-4 times a minute. Also, if I do have other errors then it is not showing them.

if other people can get into your stream, then I would not worry about it. Like I said, the yp can and will do what ever the hell it feels.

You could try this tutorial which is more expansive than mine.

No one can connect to my stream. That is the problem. This is the Playlist address here: Playlist (http://69.76.237.177:8000/listen.pls)

check the link posted by Evil Lu ... that is a good guide.
Knowing that connection problems were an issue might have allowed us to direct you to that link a little quicker.
Let us know if you have any other troubles.

I want to install Shoutcast server only for my LAN. I've installed exacly as the README.TXT says. I'm installed Shoutcast on FreeBSD box. I've installed too, the sc_trans as DSP plugins. I have 1 mp3 file in content/ directory.
But I always got error like this in my sc_serv.log:
"error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com"
Can I disable "connecting to yp.shoutcast.com" in order to run shoutcast server?
Then, in my WinAmp, I got error :
"error syncing to mpeg"
Does this error related with the previous one?
Thanks in advance
and sorry for my English..

If I understand you, you want your DNAS to only be available on your LAN and you want to shut off YP? If so, then Edit config file. Set
PublicServer=Never
Save. Restart DNAS.

No - but I don't use sc_trans, so I hope someone who does will come along and answer that question for you :)

pungki: do not mind the error connecting to the yp bit. Yes, the server can not connect, but this is not causing your problem. However, you should uncomment out connecting to the yp in sc_serv if you want lan only.
As for the sync error ... that is indeed an odd one. However, I know people have had problems with the BSD builds of sc_serv and sc_trans. Dunno if this is one of those problems, so maybe someone using BSD could jump in?

I read the whole thing through and then, sadly...my router commited suicide. Anyway, I didn't like that router much in any case, so no loss there (Although, I did just buy it. Hmmmmm...). I am in the process or performing Frankenstein like expieriments on it to revive it. I have the technology, I can make it better, faster, stronger that it was before. It will be "The 6 Million Dollar Frankenstein Router"© (...I'm...working on the name...). I'll tell you my progress later.
