Hi,
I have Lic from ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.
I have encountered a problem with some songs that I would like to play and I have not found them in these companies database. I have contacted them and they do not help at all.

The songs are:

"Boys" perfermed by B.O.N.
"Best In Me" perfomed by Let Loose
"Big City" perfomed by Miguel Bose
"Good Times" perfomed by Matt Bianco
"Never Stop" perfomed by The Brand New Heavies

There are more, but these are the most important right now.
I was wondering if someone here has encountered similar situation and how he has solved it.
One funny thing is that "Good Times" and "Never Stop" were in the Billboard list. How could terrestrial stations broadcasted these works if no license is found in the three lic companies in this country?.
If someone here have any help or comment about this, please, let me know...

Thanks

Music does not necesarrily have to be licensed by any of these agencies. ASCAP, BMI and SESAC are all organizations of performers and composers but there is no legal requirement that you have to be a member of any of them and since to my knowledge these are the only three that exist (at least in the US) then you may be relatively safe although you may still be liable for SoundExchange/RIAA royalties and may also need to check out SOCAN.

Isn't SOCAN in Canada? If it is then they are out of our territory. I have SoundExcahnge contract too.
What I think is that if those artists, all of them European, don't have their royalty collection in the USA and I play their songs, there is no way they can sue me. I'm in USA and I have all lic possible in this country. If they do not have their legal stuff here, then that is their problem. Having lic from ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and SoundExchange, I'm supposed to play any piece of work in this country... That's what I think. Am I right?
Maybe, I'm too concern about this. Checking every song that I include in my station.
