I searched for a thread like this but didn't find one, if this is a repeat, forgive me.

Anyway, what are the songs that when you hear them they just brighten up your day no matter how shitty a day it's been?

Also, give some reasons why you like the song so much.

Here's a few of mine:
Mogwai - Tracy (Playing with the Young Team Mix)
Just a beautiful base line from Mogwai and then Kid Loco adds in this fantastic melody that builds on itself quite beautifully.

dZihan & Kamien - Smile
Something fantastic happens in my brain when the girl singing in this song says, "Cuz I feel like, da da dada dada daiya" or something like that. it just a great fun song and I can't help but love it.

The Field Mice - Sensitive
From the opening guitar riff to the closing fade-out, the embodiment of a spring day. But not quite as quaint as all that, the dark undercurrents swirl from the back to the fore, producing something rather sinister.

Trembling Blue Stars - Haunted Days
The successor to The Field Mice, and the successor to the above track. How is it, that the softest of female voices can drill a dark hole in the back of your head? Again, beautifully crafted, yet far from quaint.

Makes me want to buy the creator a drink. :)

Digs out 7" copy of "Ernie, The Fastest Milkman In The West" :D

Amplifico (http://www.amplifico.net/) - Flutter, because it's just a happy song (think you can only get sound samples of that one, I'm afraid).

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Moya, because it's very uplifting.

Nullsleep (http://www.8bitpeoples.com/discography_gfx.php?artist=Nullsleep) - Depeche Mode MegaMix, because it's just awesome.

Europe - The Final Countdown, because it's cheesy and brilliant. Also because my band is covering it on Friday night. :D

Because the song makes me dance around my home and pinch my nipples. That makes me smile.

Serge Gainsbourg - Rock Around The Bunker (the whole album, especially the background singers going "Nazi Nazi Nazi Nazi Rock" or "Ratatatatata")

Twee by Tully Craft always gets a laugh. "She said I may not beat my sister at this stupid game of Uno but at least I know the difference between a Boscoe and a Bruno" and a dozen other pop injokes.

Pet Shop Boys - Home And Dry => One of the few "optimistic" songs in the PSB repertoire. Simple yet beautiful lyrics, excellent tempo, Neil Tennant sings remarkably on it and the music is to die for, uplifting with a bit of melancholy.

Morrissey - Piccadilly Palare Excellent upbeat single, great to sing along to.

New Order - Mr Disco A truly great song from their superb "Technique" album. Upbeat yet sad, a genre that New Order practically invented :)

Underworld - Dark Train More precisely the version they performed in Belfort (France) in 1998 during a festival. This one is a rollercoaster, starts quietly then keeps getting bigger and faster. Unstoppable.

RATM - Bullet In The Head Possibly my fave song by RATM. Perfect when your boss has been a prick (as always). Play this, turn the volume up and yell. When the song ends, your boss will be dead (virtually, but it's better than nothing) :D
