View Full Version : Glitch in mp3?

Hi,

I have an mp3-related problem:

I have a djmix in 192kbit mp3, and winamp plays it well.

However, when I upload it into my portable player (XClef MT200), it stops at a specific point of the mp3. I have checked with a wave editor, there is only a tiny silence at that point, but it should not stop the player.
Other thing I noticed that this mp3 is heavily limited to 0 dB.

Having resaved the mp3 in Sound Forge again, the player plays it perfectly, there were no other changes. This works, but the file is is re-encoded, which is absolutely bad.

This situtation like this happened my several time at ETN mixes.

Can anyone suggest me a software to repair the glitches like this without re-encoding the mp3?

Thanks,
B.

If all you want is to snip out the silence, normalise and maybe a little fading then give Mp3DirectCut (http://www.mpesch3.de/) a try.
