ive been looking for a linux player without much luck that will stream music to a shoutcast server, and possibly it could stream more than 1 bitrate.

unfortunately theres not much available other than sc_trans which does real basic playlist streaming from what ive heard. most shoutcast source applications are on windows.

Sc_serv (server) and sc_trans (trancoder) work great my server is UNIX based but my sources can be UNIX, Linux, Mac or Windows boxes.
If you want the overhead of running an winamp application in X Windows, you can check out MUSE its pretty hot, I myself havent run it , none of my systems use Xwindows as they are serveras and dont need X to run :)
