it's just like renaming files in windows explorer.. IT IS RENAMING FILES IN WINDOWS EXPLORER!
what you need to do is find the zip file the skin is in. right click. goto rename. change the extention (someskinname.zip) to .wsz (someskinname.wsz). if you cannot see the extension (someskinname), then you need to change windows to skow the extention of known file types. in windows me (and win9x i think), open up a folder (ie C:\Program Files\ for example). goto Tools, then folder options, find where it says "hide file extention for known file types" and uncheck it.

Ice: Ever wonder why they limit euthanasia to the elderly? Prime candidates abound round these parts.

I couldn't work out how to do this either. If all other sugestions fail another way is to move the zip file containing your bmps into your c: then open MS DOS (mmm what a nice program) type in cd\ (to change the directory) then return, then on the next line type in: rename name_of_zip.zip name_of_zip.wsz and press return again. The file will then change http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif

That's a really complicated way of doing things when all you need to do is right-click the file and select "Rename", then highlight the .zip file extension and replace it with ".wsz". And remember to set your folder options to display file extensions for known file types.

exept it is NOT POSSIBLE in some versions of win95! you can do it in some versions and 98/2000 but not in every f*cking windows goddammit! http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/mad.gif D0N'Z@ GEDiT! (i mean't to write it that way) NOT ALL PPL USE (yet) WIN98 OR NEWER!
one way to do it, if you have website then rename it there, or rename it to max. 8 letter word i.e. winamp.zip then run from command promt command:
rename winamp.zip winamp.wsz
if it doesn't work, send it to winamp.com, they'll rename it for you.
