Hi
Can i use SHOUTcast to transmit audio from one computer to another one on the internet?
I have figured out how to do this over a local network but i don't really even know how SHOUTcast works...

Just set your server as private in the DSP, and only give the address to those who you want to listen.
OR have the person host the SC server on their PC, and you connect to it with the DSP.
If you already know how to set up an SC server, then you can do any of this already.

huh?
Are you talking about the address to your SC server?
That would be http://YOUR_IP:YOUR_PORT/listen.pls
So it would be http:\\192.168.1.112:8000\listen.pls?
192.168.1.112 is my IP address (at least for my home network, not sure about the internet...)

Yes, that would work for your local network (except the slashes should be / forward slashes), but it won't work outside of your network.

Please be more specific with your questions: do what? setup a shoutcast server? Try a tutorial:
http://www.allinternetradio.com/shoutcast.asp
http://www.sp0rky-n00b.co.uk/localcast.htm
Are are you asking how to get an IP that can be used outside of your local network? Go to http://ipchicken.com
But if your using a router, then you will need to set up port forwarding or no one will be able to get through to your shoutcast server:
