View Full Version : is there writing hidden in milkdrop
Me and my mates were very very off our faces and ended up watching milkdrop for a good 45mins, all 3 of us swear we saw words flying towards the screen (saying sex, drugs, music etc.etc.etc.) to this day we havent seen it since so someone please tell us if this is real or if was all in our mind!!!

Look in Winamp\Plugins\milk_msg.ini, MilkDrop can display messages but they have to be called by pressing hotkeys.
Or maybe the text was part of some presets but I'm not sure if that's even possible (except by using custom shapes which would be very tedious).

I think what you were looking at is the preset Shifter - a thousand monkeys_phat edit.

ya that was shifter hard at work, fucking with you!! i had the same reaction when i saw it the first time, search the forums for it, i've made a few remixes as well!
HOW IT WORKS:
basicly he uses the custom wave to draw a figure similar to the 8 that you see on alarm clocks and other simple digital displays, except it is a little more complicaded(as it has to draw letters not numbers) its kinda like 4 of those 8's 2 by 2 scruched into the same space as the normal 8... anyway, he then turns each segment on or off by changing the opacity from 1 to 0 according to a predefined equation for each letter. so basicly there is one variable that controls what letter is drawn- 1 is a, 2 is b, so on. then he uses another equation to control the sequence of letters to make the words!! its really an ingenious idea(imho)
i worked out the numbers to make it also do numbers, and math symbols(including intergral) i was gonna make one that had equations flying around, but never got around to it.... humm mabye i'll do that one day
