2) Skins are a set of bitmaps & data that change what your winamp looks like.

Here is an example of a skin: http://www.winamp.com/customize/detail.jhtml?componentId=31147

If you downloaded that skin and set it as your winamp skin, the winamp interface would look like the image on that page.

You can make your own skins with just a few simple applications that your computer probably already has.
