When relaying shoutcast server, the local server is set to 24 user and the relaying server has 300 user since I am not sending the stream with winamp, can I increase my user count from 24 to what the relay server will hold without any problems?

You should be able too if you have the bandwidth for that many slots.

if you are hosting the server at home i doubt it..if its hosted you may have the bandwidth.

the formula to work out what you can do with your server.

upload / bitrate = max users.

you can test your connection @ www.dslreports.com/speedtest

thanks for the response, I use to have a bandwith service provider who would rdirect my listeners after the 24 was full to the backup server, how is this done in the shoutcast setup?

relay is just that, it takes a stream and redirects (relays) it elsewhere.

relay on shoutcast acts more like a cluster than a backup based on bandwidth.
