I have some DJ's in South Florida interested in broadcasting on our shoutcast radio stream. Obviously with myself being in Orlando, it's hard to drive to Miami on a Thurs. night to record a DJ set.

So is there a tutorial or easy walkthrough somewhere that can give me some direction in setting up my shoutcast server to accept incoming connections so that my DJ friends in S. Florida can stream to our server using their sound card output. Please advise, the server is being streamed from a computer behind my DSL connection rather than from our website.

Thanks,

Josh

all you need to do is make sure you have port and port +1 open on your firewall to allow each way connections.

give them your ip address port and password and they can use the shoutcast dsp to connect to your server as you do.

they can use this tutorial and your details to set it up.

i hope this helps..

Wow, I didn't realize it would be that simple.

If I am at work and my station is streaming... and they are scheduled for a 3:00PM show, when they logon will they be denied access or will it cancel out the stream that is running? I mean how do I bring them in to mix for an our or two and then go back to the audio that was playing while I'm not at the server computer.

set your reconnect time on your dsp where you are connected to appx 20 seconds and keep it checked,

kick the server in the admin area so your friend can connect and when he drops your dsp should pick the server back up as it is still reconnecting.
