View Full Version : Bandwidth question

So i'm running the shoutcast server on a Mac OS X, and tuning my own IP on iTunes so that I get the warm feeling that at least ONE person is listening to my radio.

However, I'm concerned if this will consume my outgoing bandwidth, meaning that I'd have one less possible "real" listener.

Does doing this consume bandwidth? I guess not, since I'm running everything from the same machine, but I get the status that I'm connected and the server is streaming so you never know.

I just want to be sure ok?
Can anybody help me out?

Thanks!

:)

listening from another PC on your own network should'nt use your internet connection at all. So regardless of the warm feeling you have if the listening PC and the server are on the same local network, your bandwidth for the internet is not used.
