as i sit here smoking weed late into the night, i've just taken a hit which was quite large and experienced the phenomenon known as a "headrush" and wondered what makes your brain perceive it exactly as it does..

for those of you who don't know a "headrush" is a stoner term for when you take a big hit of pot, and you kinda feel happy-odd for a sec, i dunno it feels as if i'm phasing out of reality a little when it happens... almost.

Words of advice, if you're gonna try pot, spend more than £5, and buy some rolling papers so you don't have to use a page out of your maths exercise book.

Cerebral hypoxia, the medical term for "lack of oxygen to the brain" makes a person dizzy and light-headed and some people find this sensation pleasurable or exciting.

I personally find the rush when E kicks in much more enjoyable.

You can experience the same thing without having to buy pot.

Just tie a lopp in the end of a rope, and tie the other end to a high tree branch. Stand on a chair, put your head through the looped end, then kick the chair out from under your feet (but not so swiftly that you break your neck.)

You'll feel a similar euphoric headrush. Just before you die.
