Wanting to build a box that plays from the HDD and occasionally from a CD (also does my downloading etc though), but I want it controllable from my mobile phone (via bluetooth which is already done).

Problem Im having is if I insert a CD, winamp will automatically add the CDs songs to the current playlist before playing them. If I eject the CD, I am then left with the songs in the playlist which dont work anymore. Since I cannot physically see the screen (it will only have current playing song via a 16x2 LCD), I cannot remove them. This causes winamp to display an error message that they cannot be found, and it does that through all the songs until it reaches the hdd songs.

Now the question; is there some sort of plugin that will allow me to play CDs, and when they are ejected, will load a default playlist?

ahum

when you take out the cd
the things you see in your playlist are just images of a link to your source ( the cd)
so yes it's perfectly normal that those files no longer will be playing once the cd is out of the player

Rip the cd , place it on the HD and problem solved.

if you place a piece of software on your HD and have a quickstart icon on your desktop, once the software is removed does the icon still take you to the software???

logic pure and simple logic.

That was not my question at all. I basically want to be able to play a disk and when its removed, the CD's entries from the current playlist be removed automatically (or a default playlist be reloaded).

So it will work like a CD player when a CD is entered and otherwise it will play MP3s from my HDD collection.

save playlist before you use cd player
after using it re-load default saved playlist

Read the last part again, it's there yet you didn't see it in the answer
it was a bit cryptical
I must have had the idea that you would see it , unfortunatly i was wrong ,sorry.

What am I using to reload it though, I do not want a screen on this thing, nor a keyboard or mouse. The current way I have it setup is that the bluetooth remote maps to global keys. Works well but the global keys dont offer complicated strokes such as reloading a specific playlist. (I have pause/play, FF, RW, next, back, top of list, end of list, shuffle and stop)

At the moment the rest of the features work fine but playing CDs would be nice.
