Just got back from watching this one, wasn't bad. I wouldn't say it was as good as the second, and maybe hyped up just a little to much, but I was satisfied with the show. There was a lot of surprises in the storyline and it tied up a lot of loose ends in both it's predecessors and they managed to keep the toture devices original. I'm not sure if they have plans or not for writing a fourth movie in the series, or if they're going to stay on the trilogy band-wagon, but they left the ending open for one.
Saw III, IMO, wasn't the best of them, but definitely worth the watch to satisfy your passive hatred of humanity and keep all us freaks giggeling.
*btw, I'm sure everyone who hasn't seen it would appreciate if we could keep this posting as spoiler-free as possible.

I would say saw iv was more interesting, actually all of them are nice except (v) sequel, that one is quite boring.

It was gory as it's predecessors. No change in presentation.

saw 7 was a total waste of money, i spent the entire film wondering how more many "i'm pointing something at the 3d camera to justify using it" moments there would be, also, it's the first in the series that doesn't seem like a piece of one continuous movie if you marathon play them back to back.

could have been worse, but.... yeah... they shouldn't have called it saw, cheesefest-money grab would have been a better name.
and for what it's worth, 6 has the best ending of all, even not counting the reverse bear trap.

you should, i couldn't even guess which one of the 6 was the one that supposedly sucked.
skip 7 though, it wouldn't have been made if not for the gimmick factor.
oh and watch them in order, back to back, don't give yourself enough time to forget the previous part.

I watched the first three films and never took the time to watch the following four, but I've heard from 99% of the people who saw the seventh that it wasn't worth it at all.
A friend of mine showed me this short movie, that is supposed to have inspired the films
