hey there :)
i want to set up a radio but not play live, i will upload my mp3s to the server where shoutcast runs from and i want to make them play by their own. My problem is that i will make several folder for each kind of music. (jazz, rock, blues etc) is it possible to define a folder to play suffle by it own with out having to set every song in the file?
and something more. My plan is to leave it and play for excample from 13.00 to 15.00 rock , from 15.00 to 17.00 ballads etc...is it possible to make it change playlist by it's own without me having to do it? and how...
thanks in advance,

yeah you use sc_trans and generate playlist from each folder.
when you start sc_trans you tell it which playlist to generate from which folders.

Im not the most knowledgable person about sc_trans.
My brief experience with it i can tell you
that what you do is put your songs in folders on your server
you have sc_trans installed on the same server (i think)
you must also have sc_serv (DNAS) installed too . infact you install sc_trans in the same folder as sc_serv(or at least i did to make things less complicated in shell)
then you open the sc_trans configuration file and tell it what directory to find song files to generate the playlist from.
so then sc_trans has generated a playlist and when you start it . It will randomly(if you have it set to random) play songs off that playlist.
You can get creative by putting differnt shows or songs you want to all play in one dj set in the same folder. generate your playlist from that folder only and wala. Your streaming only the songs that are in that particular folder.
anymore advice I recommend asking either hackerdork or someone else who used it more often.
I cant even use it because my servers linux and linux does not do aacplus. And aacplus is my first priority.

i think you will have to stop and restart sc_trans and re-generate the playlist for each time you wish to change your playlist.
i could be wrong but i dont think so.
