Smoother Update

Would it be possible to enable Winamp to download 'slipstream' updates? That is, to download and apply a patch, rather than downloading a whole new program and installing it over the top?

nearly all the plugins and core get updated with every release anyway, so the difference between a "slipstream" update and the way we do it now, would more trouble than it worth.

download size would not be much smaller.

also there's too many issues with people not providing the correct information when requested for technical issues and then with mix-matched version installs would make things even trickier. it has been talked about but also the infrastructure is just not in place for this type of install. though really a 6Mb download once every few months isn't that difficult to cope with even for the few remaining dialup users i'd have thought.
