View Full Version : Software for Mac?

Hi everyone.

I'm pretty much all Mac at home except for the Shoutcast machine - and know of Nicecast for streaming with my Mac - but can anyone enlighten me of software used to schedule and playback with on the Mac?

I find that iTunes is pretty limited (compared to Winamp) so just wonder what replacements there are out there?

Reason why - I've been given 2 Apple Cubes by a friend who used them as servers - now replaced with Mac Mini - and I've used one as a server here - and would like to use the other to stream with.

Anyone got any suggestions??

Thanks.

Only way I've seen it done is with custom applescripting to take control of I-tunes for scheduling. I don't think there are very many, if any ay all, "truely" professional broadcasting solutions for the Mac.

yes. I am sure you can get cron cranking on OSX ... having a BSD core and all.

Cheers for the replays - using cron takes me back to 'hard work' as a sys admin - think I'll stick to XP and the various packages I'm using/trialing.

heh. LOL too :D

They have a pycron for XP that is also free --- if you feel you need to resort back to that.
