View Full Version : Clickable Ratings on Main Window

Since I use lots of Smart Views to create my playlists, I'd like a way to see what a song is currently rated at by the main window. By clicking on one of 5 stars on the main window, the song would be given that rating. In addition, the existing Ratings keyboard commands would update the visual ratings (the stars) when the key(s) are pressed.

Thanks,
Enrique

there's a range of modern skins which do this (such as from here (http://www.skinconsortium.com/)). it's not possible to do on classic skins since it'd require all to be updated and it's taken long enough (and with issues still) to get people to update to the current specs from when 2.9x was released.

I spent some time evaluating these skins and found that they appear to update their own database of songs. I can't verify that they interact with the Winamp ratings system. This is unfortunate because this is what I needed since I use the Winamp Media Library to generate playlists based on Genre and Ratings.

Just an idea: a new submenu of the right-click menu would solve this problem. For example just above the last entry (Exit/Quit, I don't know which one since I have a hungarian language file):
Rating -> No rating

I know that's available... the reason I wanted the stars on the main window is so that I could use it on a small touchscreen in my car.
