If I have 'automatically remove missing files' ticked (which is the option I have always used) then 'rescan watch folders' will always remove ALL files ie I will have an empty media library. This is repeatable ie it always happens.
I am using the released version of Vista Home Premium.
Thanks

Unless it's a Vista-specific bug, I can't reproduce this under WinXP sp2 or Win98 SE.
Are the files on an internal hard drive, or on a networked pc/drive, or on an external usb drive?
If external, is the drive connected at the time of the scan?

Make sure you installed Winamp with "Separate settings per user account"

Thanks - that seems to have solved the problem. However, I am now finding that it seems to lock the program before it finishes. I have 50,000+ files - the previous version had no problems.

Solved the problem. I had an old DRMed WMA that I don't have the license for anymore. I presume it was waiting? Anyway got rid of that and it rescanned OK.
