Dear developpers...
It should be great if it is possible to adjust the defalt fade-out time.
I tried the crossfade function too… But I prefer the fade-out function above the cross-fade options from the DirectSound plugin, because I still need the opportunity to stop the music immediately with the stop-button.
So, PLEASE HELP!!! :p
A verry satisfied  user of WinAmp...

By "default fade-out", biodanza is refering to the 'shift'+stop fade.

Yessss... Thank you JonnyMac, that's truth.
It should be great if the [shift]+stop fade-out was adjustable, because than we have the choice: use fade-out (with [shift]+stop), or don't use fade-out and stop directly with stop (or pause).

I was actually just about to post asking whether there was an option to turn off the whole fading-out thing m'self. Here's hoping I/we can get an answer soonishly, because I just got Winamp on my new comp here, and it's getting REAL irritating not being able to have just a cold stop.

preferences -> plug-ins -> output -> directsound output -> fading tab and the options there (i think that fits what you need)

-daz Thank you VERY much! I at least feel a LITTLE less stupid, seeing that it's at least sorta hidden in there as opposed to being a main, out-in-the-open option. XD Again, thanks much, and take care.

it's not that hidden, it's just knowing that fading is related to the output plugins (assuming that they even provide such options). at least you've got things resolved now ;)

Hi daz...
No, that 's not helping me...
seems to be, that you did not read my origanal question... (Fade out time adjustable)... I want a direct stop, an I want a faded stop with adjustable time...
Other options?
I don't think there isn't a solution in winamp now...

Yes, true. It's a usefull thing but that's not the exact answer.
I'm curious too if there is a way of doing it (in in simple mode)

To what are you referring to? There are two different conversations in this old thread. The original topic is about the fade on stop (via Shift+'stop button' or Shift+V) and the other is about the cross-fade function built in to the DirectSound plug-in.
The fade on stop (via Shift+'stop button' or Shift+V) can not be adjusted and is unrelated to the DirectSound cross-fade.
