Im the type that listens to albums and not just songs singlehandedly, and therefore id like to be able to rate a full album.
9 super good songs and 2 bad equals good album for example.
When looking through a list its easier to notify each album rather than checking each songs rate to identify the 'general' rate of an album.
It would be great if it would be added as an extra column under the album section in media librarys left side.
pfftopic: In fact, more extra columns for whichever would be a delight.
If this feature already exists somewhere, please enlighten me! :)

what Winamp version you use? the latest stable (5.35 so far) has this feature: just select album or artist in Media Library (multiselection with ctrl & shift allowed) right click with mouse and rate!

That rates all songs individually.
What i want, is the option to rate each album individually without having to think about each individual song.

I don't understand...
did you mean to rate all the album songs with the same rating in only one step?
if you mean this, then my guidelines are ok

No, rating an album has no relation with individual song rating.
So the album gets stars, but the songs doesn't.
I think its an important feature since alot of people has albums, and you often judge on an album.

Any news about this, would love same tool: rate an entire album based on the ratings of the individual tracks of that album. Could be calculated automatically too, for example: album rating = avg of song ratings, but how to do that???? anyone an idea???

I found out that iTunes does rate albums, based on the individual track's ratings. It auitomatically calculates album rating as the average of the individual track ratings (only takes into account rated tracks)
For example an album with 10 tracks:
Track 1 is rated 3*, Track 2 is rated 5*, and the other tracks do not get a rating, then the album ratins is 4*
Same album:
Track 1 is rated 3*, Track 2 is rated 5*, and the other tracks are rated 1*, then the album rating would be is 2*
I think this is an exellent feature!!!!
Any chance this could be made available in one of the Winamp plugins or standard winamp functionality?!?
For example in the Play Album plugin???

Itunes has the ability to do this. You can rate the album separate from the one given by the song ratings averaged out. So technically, you could rate every song 2 stars on an album and then still assign a 5 star rating to it... if you really wanted to.
Winamp will either calculate the average rating of the songs on the album, or you can rate the album and it will assign that rating to all the songs on it (right click album and select rating). Having a feature in Winamp like the Itunes feature would be really nice. Only thing I miss about Itunes....
