Hello,
Which media players, other than Winamp, iTunes and XMMS, can play MP3 streams served by Shoutcast (and actually support the Shoutcast playlist format .pls?)? Is there a detailed list somewhere?

Most any player will handle these, it will be a long list.
Might be better to list the players that do not work. Quicktime comes to mind as it really wants an RTP/RTSP server.

Scratch quicktime off the list:
<09/22/07@11:21:59> [dest: 192.168.1.103] starting stream (UID: 2)[L: 2]{A: QuickTime/7.2 (qtver=7.2;os=Windows NT 5.1Service Pack 2)}(P: 1)
<09/22/07@11:22:00> [dest: 192.168.1.103] connection closed (1 seconds) (UID: 2)[L: 1]{Bytes: 49152}(P: 1)
<09/22/07@11:22:38> [dest: 192.168.1.103] starting stream (UID: 3)[L: 2]{A: QuickTime/6.0}(P: 1)
<09/22/07@11:22:44> [yp_tch] yp.shoutcast.com touched!
<09/22/07@11:23:56> [dest: 192.168.1.103] connection closed (77 seconds) (UID: 3)[L: 1]{Bytes: 875062}(P: 1)

Yup, I knew it didn't work, I was adding to the not compatible list. QT requires an RTP/RTSP server like Darwin Streaming Server.

As already stated, nearly all players will support Mp3 streams.
The common ones people use to listen to SHOUTcast include:
Winamp
Windows Media Player
iTunes
Real Player
XMMS
VideoLAN (VLC) player
MusicMatch
