I have setup the server, but cannot connect, though everything looks in order. Here's the log:

<07/31/00@00:15:04> [http:24.29.27.152] REQ:"/" (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows 98))

Those last couple entries show where I tried to connect via the browser. I got into the Shoutcast Status screen there, but it said the server status was down. Any ideas?
This is totally new to me...

Thanks!

It looks like youve changed the port to 8002. I think the best port to use is 8000 because for some strange reason my server dosent like any other than port 8000.

I did that in order to experiment with it some - this happens regardless of what post I have set. It takes the default port and listens on the next one (i.e. if port is 8000, it listens on 8001). This part appears to be normal.

Also, I have just placed a few .mp3 files in the content directory. Do I need to be using Winamp to play the music, or isn't this necessary? Can you have a Shoutcast server on a PC WITHOUT a sound card since the sound is basically being broadcast out?

This is turning out to be tougher than I thought... :\

For that function to work you have to have a source stream from the source plugin for Winamp, otherwise the server is totally useless.
