I looked all over for an e-mail address to send this to, but couldn't find one.

I have been a WinAmp user since 1998 or so. I generally love WinAmp. I recently upgraded from 5.01, which worked great, to 5.5 (X86). The only reason I upgraded were the nag screens that opened every single time I opened WinAmp. WinAmp 5.5 promptly cleared my unsaved playlist. I know that happens sometimes when you offer a new build, and I should have saved the playlist.

This afternoon, I opened WinAmp to discover that it has again cleared my unsaved playlist. 5.01 never did this, and since I still have the 5.01 install file on my desktop, I think I'm going to roll back. It's not worth the new skin (that I never use) to lose my playlist every few weeks. I guess I'll just have to ignore the annoying nag screens.

You've used Winamp for nearly 10 years and don't even know that there's a "Check for new version of Winamp at startup" option in: Prefs > General Preferences?

I can't reproduce the problem where the active playlist gets wiped.

My main playlist is always loaded, and never gets wiped.
unless "Enqueue" isn't set as the default action in Prefs > File Types...
