My shoutcast server works great, but whenever I go into the dsp config for the audio quality and I cant get any higher than 56kbps 24Khz, I have a cable connection and want to start a cd quality station.

If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Fairly simple one this, visit the FAQ:

FAQ (http://www.shoutcast.com/support/docs/docs.phtml?filenumber=130&language=english&layout=normal&prevlayout=normal)

I quote:
"B5. I can't broadcast at more than 56kbps, but I see people doing
128kbps and above. How can I do that?

Answer: You need the professional version of the Fraunhofer MP3 codec. We
can't give away the codec for free, but you can buy it by emailing Fraunhofer
(http://www.fhg.com)

http://www.kxrm.net/downloads/codec.zip

the actual link would be http://www.fhg.de

notice the .de domain since this is a german contribution.
but don't expect to find much about the mp3 codec there since this is not a commercial thing!
