sorry, am new with this, but this 65 year old needs a lil help to get started. a lot of stations to search on, and i use dial up for my internet connection, and some of the stations come in good, but i am trying to locate the settings, (preffered) for preventing that buffer thing to keep interruoting my radio. can someone make a suggestion, or send me somewhere, with a suggestion for setting my player to stop this? appreciate your help, and will probably be more on this post to. Sounds like the station you are trying to listen to requires more bandwidth than your dial up conection can deliver.
You will need to select only stations with a bitrate of 36 kbps or less.

that seems to work better now, but still has some short stops. are there any settings on my computer, and on winamp that will give me just a little control on that?

Try - Prefs(Ctrl+P) > Input Plugins > in_mp3.dll > Config > Streaming tab > increase the 'Streaming data buffer' to 128-256KB and play with the 'Streaming Prebuffer' settings.
See if that helps.

ok....thanks for info. going to my daughters house now, but, if all can tell me how to save something, and does it have to be the whole station program, or can i save just a song, create a play list that will play back all at one time. i will look foward to come home and see. thanks a lot......Jimmy

Afraid not, Winamp cannot save radio because of copyright considerations.
Your only real solution is a broadband connection, more and more stations require it these days.
For dial up, look for stations labled as lo-fi.
