I love the Auto-Tag Feature, and it's great that you can select hundreds of files in your playlist editor, then view properties and Auto-Tag them all sequentially.
What would really be beneficial, is rather than just Auto-Tag > Ok to do it one at a time, is Auto-Tag ALL when you have more than 1 file selected.
Sure I understand you will loose the ability to verify results, and that means some may be tagged with data you don't want, but that is a far better pain to fix than sitting as I have for days to manually click ok. I have a few thousand that I want to run it on.
Just set and forget.
That gives you the option to do it manually, or full auto.

Maybe also add a swtich when Auto-Tag all for
"Do not overwrite existing data"
This would essentially then tag only files missing data if youdidnt want to overwrite tags.
Plus
You could have checkboxes to select which fields were the only fields you want updated, like...
Title: yes/no
Artist:
Genre:
etc
With both these options you have a very powerful and intuitive way to mass tag.

Highlight the files you want to autotag
right click
choose send to
Auto Tag
It will do them all at once. I don;t recommend that for the very reasons you stated, but that will do all the files that you select at once.

highlight a bunch of files, while highlighted, right click, and send to is there, you can mass tag at that point.

I totally missed that feature.
I found it after I submitted the thread, I forgot to come back and mention.
It's there. :)
