View Full Version : Odd IP problem (I've done my research!)

Hi guys, I just started using SHOUTcast, although I am not a computer noobie. I have encountered what seems to be a unique situation with my router that prevents me from streaming to people outside of my LAN network. I know what you're thinking: "You just gotta forward the ports noob!". Well...I did. And that's the problem. Here's the message that I get in the log:

<03/19/08@20:27:31> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)
<03/19/08@20:27:31> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 75.67.240.53:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out).)

Pretty typical right? The problem is: I CAN'T forward any ports on 75.67.240.53. I can only forward the ports on the IP that actually works for me but not for other people (local) which is 192.168.1.106. I am using a Linksys router and I cannot figure out how to forward ports from 75.67.240.53. The numbers are locked at 192.168.1 ( ) <-place to put 3 other numbers.

Can anybody shed some light on this situation?

Forward port 8000 TCP to the internal IP of the DNAS (192.168.1.106) and then when people from outside connect the router will know which internal IP to forward it to.

Excellent! I feel really stupid now for not having thought of that but I'm glad I know now. Does anybody know how to do that for a Linksys brand router specifically? Just tell me which tab it's under and I'll figure out the rest.
