I run a mp3 website mostly so that no matter where I am, if I have a broadband connection, I have my 700+ CD collection on hand to listen to.
So, here is the problem.
I click on a link that I have created, and I can either open or save as... If I open, I cannot use WinAmp (as far as I know) to listen to the mp3 until after it has put it in a temporary folder (complete download). If I chose, save as... same thing, except that I then must open the file I saved to play it.
With RealAudio, I can "open" the file from current location and it will stream the mp3 for me. But I do not want to use RealAudio to listen to mp3s.
Is there a way to get WinAmp to stream a hyperlink to an mp3 from a browser?
I see this shoutcast thing and content-on-demand, but I don't want to set up a play list for every single track of every single CD to stream them.
Does WinAmp not work like RealAudio?
Anyone know? I am preparing myself for the answer I don't want to hear.
Thanks.
Jeremiah
