Xbox Live

For some reason I can't connect to Xbox Live. It'll connect and then it will sign off w/o any errors or notification that I've signed off(or w/e is happening).

Something similar to this has happened before but I've since forgotten what I did to fix it. Help? I want to play Halo 3.

Something happened to me for about a month, where I couldn't connect at all unless I went into the "Test Connection" menu. Funny thing is that I didn't even have to wait for the tests to finish -- as soon as I entered the menu I left and then it worked properly. Then suddenly, it worked again w/o problems.

So try the "Test Connection" and see if that helps (and while you're there, make sure that it's showing your NAT as "Open", not "Moderate" or "Strict"). Also try restarting your router (what model do you have, anyway?) and see if that helps.

I did do everything you have suggested. Turns out it was just the service acting up. It was really weird. I couldn't sign in to Live from the dashboard but once in Halo 3 I couldn't do matchmaking but was signed in to Live. It's all good now.

I have a Netgear RP614v2. Works great for me.

Usually Live works all the time. They were doing maintenance on the servers so I guess they messed up some things for a while.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I remember getting a message from MS not to long ago, saying that XBL will be down for 8 hours or so...

Yea. I got it too. I thought that once it was back it wouldn't have issues. But then I remembered it's MS. It wasn't working quite right for about 6 hours.
