View Full Version : Linking within library

I am starting to get used to Winamp. I used WMP11 for a long time, it was the simplest, least resource intensive, quickest responding player I have found. With a music library of 47,000 plus songs it worked well.

It did however have one major flaw. I turned hundreds of my album art jpg's black. After hours of trying to fix them, it just kept replacing them. Even deleting the library cashe and library files themselves, it just kept putting these files back. Where the hell it was getting them will forever remain a mystery. Microsoft won't take credit or help, without a fee.

The only thing I am having trouble getting by without is the ability to click on an artist or anything in the library and going to that artist. Like if I'm in a play list or genre and want to go a specific artist with out doing the search. I looked for a way, but don't see one. Any help would be appreciated.

WMP is dead, long live Winamp!

I'm like you. I love WMP11 but have started to find it slow responding now that I'm at the 80Gb level. It's just soooo slow on library searches, especially the movies.

My one criticism of Winamp is exactly the one that you've highlighted - linked searches. Someone please implement this into WinAmp to make it truly awesome.

Yes I agree, if someone could write that into the program it would be nice. I'm not sure, but I think Winamp sounds better, if that's possible. It doesn't mess up the tags or album art. It also has a good tagging feature. WMP didn't seem to actually change the files tags. If you could just link within the program it would be perfect.
