MP3 Tags Not Saving

I did a search prior to starting this thread but didn't find anything relevant. Basically the problem is that my id3v1 or v2 tags won't save. In fact, no mp3 tag info at all will save. I fill in the fields, hit OK, then go back to view the info and it's all gone. I've tried using tagging software as well and get the same result. Any idea what's wrong? It's a clean install of Winamp 5.531, no third-party plugins or anything.

you probably have the files set as read only.

open the folders with your files in explorer --> select the files --> right click/properties

uncheck "read only".

I checked, they aren't set as read-only. Any other ideas?

Aha! I figured out what was wrong. Under input, for in_mp3.dll, the settings to read and write tags were disabled for some strange reason. Once I enabled those, MP3 tags began to save properly again.
