View Full Version : Where does the free mp3 go after Installing Winamp 5?

Hello everyone.

Sorry if this sounds plain stupid, but I really don't know.

I've Installed Winamp 5 like 5 times since last year (every time it's an update). I always choose the option "Bundle" which the download page says that includes a free mp3 from some singer/band.

During installation I see that the installer package unpacks de mp3. But after installation is over, I check my whole pc looking for the mp3 file but I just can't find it.

Please help.

Sorry but no, there is nowhere to be found. Could it be deleted post installation?

Same problem here.
MP3s were installed in Winamp's folder up to some version, but from sometime to now, they are missing.
Bundle installer it's a waste of bandwidth right now.

if the files are added to your winamp libary, you can search for the file in the libary, select the file(s) and press Alt+3
That will bring up a window with information about the file - including where it physically is located on your computer. hope that helps :)

they're talking about demo.mp3

it should be in %appdata%/winamp

We are not talking about demo.mp3.
But yes, the bundle mp3 are set in that folder ( Start menu, run, %appdata%\Winamp , ok).
Thank you, Rocker, I found 3 new songs to listen to, from last 3 bundle installations. :D

@g00fy0: The files are not added to the library. to installer.

if the free files installed are true mp3 and are not stored in the winamp folder (which they should be) you can do a search from the start menu
but as my memory serves me the files winamp(at least they were at one point)were wma protected files but the process is the same

I finally found them. They're hidden in

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Winamp

:D
