Advertising your stream question

Is it still allowed to post a link to your stream if you are having a legitmate problem are someone want an example of a stream type, processing type, etc.?

Just want to make sure I have a clear idea of when it is allowed to drop a link to a stream.

Its just some people just sign up to post ads and
that is really not what these forums are for.
