View Full Version : File path in the Smart View editor

Because of a specific issue I have with my music collection, I would like to be able to set up some smart views with a SPECIFIC file path, and file path only. I can't do that with the file name field the way it is right now.

Let me explain why.

I have many MP3s within my music collection that are old files, in not the best bitrate quality, and they're not in an album folder. Some of them are duplicates. Some of them are songs I hate and want to delete. Some of them are not properly tagged, etc. For various reasons it would be nice to set up a smart view in order to deal with those files, and ONLY those files. I have probably hundreds of those files.

To make it clear, this is the sort of file I would want to show up:

G:\Music\MNO\Nirvana\Nirvana - Come As You Are.mp3

But at the same time I would not want these MP3s to show up, because they're fine and I don't need to do anything but rate them in my media library:

G:\Music\MNO\Nirvana\Nevermind (1991, 192)\01 - Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit.mp3
G:\Music\MNO\Nirvana\Nevermind (1991, 192)\02 - Nirvana - In Bloom.mp3
etc...

In order to get the files in the Nirvana folder to show up but NOT in the subsequent subfolders, I think I would need to have the file path and not just the filename as one of the options in the smart view editor. Unless there's some sort of workaround?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hope there's a way to do this. Thanks in advance...

Currently cannot with the query language, which is sad.
