Can't play surround sound

Hi! I'm using a SoundBlaster Live soundcard and an Altec Lansing sound system with 5 speakers. When use winamp there's only 3 of the speakers work. I did set the surround sound in the audio box but it doesn't work neither. Does anybody know why? Please help! I appreciate it! =)

your speaker set isn't the ADA880s or ADA885s is it? if not what model is it? what 3 speakers work (i assume front-left, front-right, and subwoofer)

Mp3's are not coded in "surround sound" Hence there lack of "surround sound".
