The layest ver. of Winamp won't stop talking to my disk long enough to "Defraq". I asked that info not be taken from compute, anybody got an answer? I've only got a little hair left(to pull out). I like Winamp and want to continue to use it.But a guy's drive's gotta be in shape.
It is the program winampa.exe (a.k.a. Winamp's Agent). What this little pot of gold (just kidding I hate this program) does is keep you file associations so programs (i.e. anything made by Real) do not steal the files away from Winamp. You can do two things for your problem. You can temperarly disable Agent or make it so it will never run:
For the temp. disable just press Alt + Ctrl + Delete and chose winampa.exe then end task. Now do your defrag and the next time you restart your computer the program will run again.
Or you can disable it forever (just don't complain if your associations get stolen) by:
Open Winamp
Press Ctrl + P
Click on "Agent"
Remove the check next to "Enable Agent"
Then Close
