Since I installed WinAmp ver. 2.62 I have a problem with the Power Saving Manager of my PC.
Now, the PC doesn't turn into low power mode automatically after some minutes, and when I try to force the low power mode by selecting the apropriate option in the windows98 (start button), the system says that it can't turn the pc in low power, because a program is still running and it makes impossible to turn the pc in low power.
By pressing the CTRL-ALT-DEL key sequence, the task manager of Windows98 displays, between the others, a program named "WINAMPA". By terminating that program the PC power management functions correctly.
I'd like to know if there's the way to correct this problem, and I'd like to know what the "WINAMPA" program is for.
Thanks to anybody will help me!!!

Paolo.

Ahhh... So winampa.exe surfaces again. Well, winampa.exe is Winamp's Agent. So what is that you ask? It is a little program that is always running that monitors your file assoications, and when a program (i.e. Real whatever it is they make) tries to steal a file association from Winamp, this programs tells it "No, it is mine go try to steal another file association" (something to that effect). During the installation of Winamp it does ask you if you want to run this program. But back to the point it sounds like it would be most benifical for you to disable this program to do so follow these steps:
Open Winamp
Press Ctrl + P
Click on "Agent"
Remove the check next to "Enable Winamp Agent"
